World Cup winner Brad Thorn has joined the Queensland Reds as an assistant coach for the remainder of the Super Rugby season.

Ex-All Black lock Brad Thorn joined the Reds at the end of last year as a member of the development squad coaching staff but has been elevated to the senior squad for the rest of 2016.

The dual international, who was part of New Zealand's World Cup-winning team in 2011, has impressed since moving to Ballymore, playing a key role in the Reds winning the inaugural Super Under-20s championship.
